Changes to bus times from 5 September
There are changes to some bus times from 5 September, mainly in North Norfolk, as a result of both the change to the College of West Anglia finishing times in the new term, and also the awarding of new bus service contracts by Norfolk County Council. A summary of the changes are:
Coasthopper and 35 Some changes to afternoon and evening bus times, as well as to connecting 29 times in Wells. The 0800 bus from Hunstanton to Wells will be extended to start at Heacham Lavender at 0752 for Alderman Peel High School students. click here for times.
the X6 will mostly be replaced by Sanders Coaches 9 between Holt and Fakenham, through tickets and connections available with the X8 for King's Lynn at Fakenham. Norfolk Green will continue to run buses on Mondays to Saturdays at 0645 from Cromer and 1730 from Fakenham, these are also now numbered 9. click here for times.
the X8 has a completely new timetable designed to improve train connections through the day at King's Lynn, as well as offering guaranteed weekday connections on our X29 buses from Fakenham into Norwich. Through fares and connections are available onto Sanders 9 from Fakenham to Holt. On Sundays, the X8 will be run by Sanders, valid Norfolk Green tickets accepted on these journeys. click here for times.
the 27 has a new timetable to allow for connections to and from King's Lynn on our revised X8 buses, click here for times.
the 29 has a new timetable, still up to every our seven days a week with connections onto Coasthopper, the X8 and the X29. Because of a lack of use, buses will no longer serve the quay or the hospital in Wells, however, and will start and finish at The Buttlands. click here for times.
the X29 has a new timetable offering guaranteed weekday connections from Fakenham through to King's Lynn on the X29. Because of the severe difficulties we face in getting buses through Foulsham village, just one return bus a day will call at the Post Office, but there will be an hourly service from the southern end of the village with buses stopping every hour at the junction of Bintree Road and Station Road. Similarly, buses will not serve the Royal Oak at Bintree, but will call every hour in both directions at the old village hall. click here for times.
the 505 the 1535 bus from Spalding on Mondays to Saturdays will now run 10 minutes later at 1545. click here for times.
New timetable leaflets will be available from drivers at least a week before the changes take place, or download the new times using the links given above.
You helped us raise over £1,000 for PACT Animal Sanctuary
On our third charity day on Friday, we collected £504.09 from you all on our buses in and around King's Lynn to support the fantastic work done by PACT Animal Sanctuary in helping vulnerable and injured pets and wild animals. We've now matched that amount ourselves, meaning that a cheque for £1,008.18 will be winging its way to the sanctuary.
Thank you all again for your generosity, and if you can help as a volunteer or if you want to rehome an animal at PACT, take a look at www.pactsanctuary.org.
Success at the 2009 UK Bus Awards
For the third year running, we've come away with a gong from the prestigious UK Bus Awards in recognition of our work to improve the quality and accessibility of bus services across West Norfolk and beyond.
At the ceremony at London's Park Lane Hilton on November 12, we beat off stiff competition to win the 'Bus in the Countryside' award in recognition of our ever more popular Coasthopper buses along the north Norfolk coast, and how they are doing great things for the environment and economy of this fragile yet beautiful area.
"Coasthopper represents all that is good for both the north Norfolk coast and for rural transport generally," said the judges, "and is testament to the dedication and enthusiasm of all who work to make this route the success it is."
As if that wasn't enough, we were also named joint runner-up for the Independent Operator of the Year award, along with fellow quality Norfolk operator Konectbus, in recognition of our attention to detail, style and quality of our promotions and marketing, and our relationships with the community we serve. We were pipped to the post by our Cornish friends at Western Greyhound, so well done to them too!

Heroes Welcome on the 39!
We are proud to be one of the first businesses to sign up for West Norfolk's Heroes Welcome initiative to show quiet appreciation for the work that our armed forces do both at home and abroad. From 1 July, single and return fares on our 39 buses between RAF Marham and King's Lynn will be sold at a discount to servicemen and women showing their ID card to their driver when boarding.
Fares for those eligible will be cut by 20%, so a single into town will now be just £2 and return just £3.50. Discounts will also be offered on 16-19 and family group singles and returns, and Duo returns between Marham and Lynn as well. For more info on Heroes Welcome, click here.
